Whipped Tallow Body Butter

Aroma Directions:

This product was designed to add 0.5-3% essential or fragrance oil. Always test scent in a small sample batch prior to mixing into the entire product. 

Directions Using a Handheld Mixer

1. Whip the Base
   * Scoop the base into a sanitized large mixing bowl. Do not heat the base.
   * Begin whipping with your handheld mixer on medium speed until the butter loosens up, approximately 1 minute.
2.  Add Essential Oils
   * Pause mixing.
   * Measure your essential oils carefully.
   * Drizzle them evenly over the whipped butter.
3. Incorporate Oils
   * Mix on low speed for 20–30 seconds to gently fold in the oils.
   * Increase to medium-high speed for 1–2 minutes until fully incorporated, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
4. Package
   * Place your whipped butter into a piping bag (snip the end or use a wide tip).
   * Pipe the butter into your jar until it’s halfway full.
   * Gently tap the jar on the counter to remove air bubbles.
   * Add more butter until the jar is full, then tap again to settle the product.
   * Smooth the top with a spatula or spoon, wipe the rim clean, and close with a lid.

Directions Using a Stand Mixer

1. Whip the Base Butter
   * Transfer the cooled butter mixture into the stand mixer bowl.
   * Attach the whisk attachment.
   * Start whipping on medium speed until fluffy and soft peaks form.
2. Add Essential Oils
   * Stop the mixer.
   * Pour your measured essential oils into the center of the butter.
3. Incorporate Oils
   * Mix on low speed for about 15–20 seconds.
   * Increase speed to medium-high for 1–2 minutes until oils are completely distributed.
   * Scrape down the sides with a spatula and give one last quick whip.
4. Package
   * Place your whipped butter into a piping bag (snip the end or use a wide tip).
   * Pipe the butter into your jar until it’s halfway full.
   * Gently tap the jar on the counter to remove air bubbles.
   * Add more butter until the jar is full, then tap again to settle the product.
   * Smooth the top with a spatula or spoon, wipe the rim clean, and close with a lid.

Packaging Directions: 

This product was designed to be packaged in jars.

Filling Directions:

Always clean and sanitize your utensils with hot soapy water and rinse well. You can wipe excess water off or allow it to fully air dry. When you are ready to use any utensils for filling make sure to, spray them with 70% alcohol and wipe off with lint-free paper rolls. Don’t forget to clean and sanitize your working area as well. We recommend having written SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) that include cleaning, sanitizing, as well as the use of hairnets, gloves, and lab coats or aprons when handling products. 

There are a few methods that are effective to fill your product without the use of a filling machine. 

• Use a zip lock bag or pastry bag to squeeze the contents into your container. 
• Use a sanitized reusable condiment container. Simply snip the tip of the container to work best with the viscosity of each product. 
• Purchase a gallon pump to add to the top of the ½ gallon, 1 gallon, or 5 gallon container and pump directly into packaging.
